Projects
UDA has amassed a wide range of commercial design experience over the years. We have assisted with the development of many stand-alone commercial structures and whole industrial parks as well as provided tenant fit-out and interior-only renovations for dozens of commercial clients. Commercial projects often share a similar diagram with a front of house office/sales area supported by a high-bay warehouse area in the rear. Understanding the functional and code requirements for each specific use in a commercial building is critical for developing a successful project. While quality of design has a place, these types of commercial projects are conceived only if the investment makes sense. For this reason budget, schedule, and flexibility of the structure for potential tenants often drives most design decisions on a commercial project. As with all of our project types, we know that spending time up front in the process to understand / analyze what’s most important to our client makes for a smoother process and better project for the owner, contractor and design team.

Milton CAT’s new 45,650 SF facility in Stoughton, MA showcases UDA’s expertise in delivering innovative, performance-driven design. Strategically located, the two-story building features expansive service bays, a high-tech warehouse with automated vertical lift modules, and dedicated areas for retail, parts distribution, and hose assembly. As a key member of the design-build team, UDA coordinated complex functional requirements for building MEP/FP systems and specialized equipment to meet stringent Milton CAT standards. Close collaboration with Milton CAT’s brand consultants and vendors ensured the delivery of a flexible, efficient facility. The well-regarded project received both the 2024 DBIA New England Gold Award and the 2025 CMAA Project Excellence Award.

The recently Philosophe Salon renovation project doubled the size of their existing salon by taking over an adjacent tenant space. This expansion allowed for an increase in client service offerings as well as a complete interior renovation of the existing space. The goal for the project was to create a manhattan loft-style vibe in keeping with the owner's vision for the project.

UDA Architects recently completed the interior fit-out of the 555 Providence Highway Plaza in Walpole, MA in partnership with M.A.B. Construction as a Design-Build project delivery. Tenants included AT & T, Piezoni’s, Kid’s in Sports, and Crossfit Prosperity.
